Artist Statement:
I use metals to make jewelry that combines classic shapes with modern details. My one-of-a-kind pieces celebrate the joy & power of being an individual. I see my jewelry as art to express personality and it’s my hope that wearers will be encouraged to embrace their one-of-a-kind-ness. For inspiration, I travel & read to experience different cultures, fashion, art & food. I also look to my life experience growing up in California, my Mexican American culture and life as a nomadic military spouse. I’ve survived a brain tumor & paralysis. Making jewelry helped me regain fine motor skills. I’m a three-time Artistar Jewels Exhibiting Artist.
Inspired by a box of long stemmed flowers, this OOAK ring is pure joy. Completely handmade, the etched print on the box lid is one I designed myself. This ring can hold little flowers, a sprig of lavender and even hair pins but really, it’s meant to bring sunshine, a smile, laughter. It’s meant to hold something you hold dear.
